Rye Harbour is surrounded by a landscape of timber and tiled hung villages and comfortable, welcoming towns with their blossom filled orchards, hop gardens and white cowled oasts, ancient towns and harbours of the coast, no longer threatened by the invaders. Just a mile away is Rye; no town evokes the atmosphere of times past in medieval times more than ancient Rye with its quaint cobbled streets, picturesque period buildings, unchanged for hundreds of years. antiques, book, crafts etc.
