Kielder Water Caravan Club Site
A fabulous site for an active holiday, with some pitches overlooking Kielder Water, the largest man-made lake in Western Europe, and backed by trees. Its a haven of peace and quiet. There is no need to leave the area to find every kind of outdoor sport, from the water-based varieties (indoor swimming pool and licensed restaurant 5 minutes walk from the site), through pony-trekking, horse riding and orienteering to bird watching, cycling (bicycle hire available), crazy golf and just plain walking. For the youngsters theres an adventure playground just outside the site. Yet despite this hive of activity theres marvellous quietude, and if you watch carefully youll see shy deer and even red squirrels. Note: Midges can be troublesome Jun-Aug - an insect repellent is advised.

Hadrians Wall Wildlife Northumberland National Park Forest Adventure Playground From M6 - leave at junc 44 (end of mway); at rndabt turn R onto A7 (sp Galashiels, Hawick); in 9¼m turn R onto B7201 (sp Canonbie, Kielder Water 32m); in abt 1½m in Canonbie keep R onto B6357 (sp Newcastleton); cont to foll sp for Kielder Water; abt 5m past Kielder vill turn L (sp Leaplish Waterside Park). Site on R within ¼m. Note: last 11½m part single track, passing places but suitable for caravans. From E on A69 - just past Hexham turn R onto A6079 (sp Bellingham, Kielder Water); in abt 3m turn L onto B6320 (sp Bellingham); in Bellingham turn L into rd sp Kielder Water 9m; in abt 2m turn L (sp Kelder Water 7m); in abt 10m turn R (sp Leaplish Waterside Pk). Site on R within ¼m. From A68 (N or S) - turn off onto B6320 (sp Bellingham); at end of Bellingham vill turn R (sp Kielder Water 9m); then as from E on A69. From N or S on A1 - turn onto A69 (sp Hexham); then as from E on A69.
