"The heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" - Non-members welcome
The Chase is England’s smallest mainland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Visitor Centre and cafe are good places to start an exploration. Cannock is five miles from the Club Site. It has a good shopping centre, a leisure centre and market place. The bronze age hill fort at Castle Ring is a mile walk from Site. Shugborough Estate, managed by the National Trust, is a late 17th century mansion with a 19th century model farm and servants’ quarters. See the history and manufacturing methods of Wedgwood china at the Visitor Centre in Stoke on Trent. Visit Burton-upon-Trent to see the Coors Visitor Centre – the UK’s premier museum dedicated to brewing – with its Shire Horse Stables and micro brewery. Lichfield Cathedral is the only mediaeval cathedral with three spires. The city is also home to St Mary’s Heritage Centre, Samuel Johnson’s Birthplace, the Staffordshire Regiment Museum and St Chad’s church with its ancient well. The National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas commemorates the past by creating a living gift for the future. Walsall is to the south, with its Leather Museum and fine-art gallery.
Some pitches are sloping and chocks will be needed. Walks are available from the site.
