"Golden beaches and the wilds of Exmoor"
Surrounded by rolling hills and meadows, our Club Site at Umberleigh is in the Taw Valley – in the heart of North Devon. Forming part of a 70-acre farm, you will find fishing, picnic tables and woodland walks.
The village of Umberleigh has a Post Office, general outdoor clothing shop, antique shop, tea rooms and a pub. Tarka Line trains stop at the local station. Trains go from Barnstaple to Exeter. Cyclists can take bikes on the train for the Tarka Trail – a 21-mile cycle track, mainly traffic-free. Barnstaple has a good selection of shops, supermarkets and markets throughout the week in the Pannier Market. Visit Brannam’s Pottery and the Museum of North Devon. The Royal Horticultural Society’s Rosemoor gardens are at Torrington. Dartington Crystal Factory Experience includes a factory tour. Atlantic Village has many factory shops and the Atlantis Family Adventure Park for children. The Cobatton Combat Collection of military equipment is dedicated to the memory of those who used the equipment on display. Atherington and Chittlehampton villages are also close by. Atherington has a Post Office and tea room and there are several other places to eat. Children can enjoy free tennis coaching on Site in high season. A fish and chip van visits the Site on Tuesday evenings. A farm shop selling good local produce is a mile from Site. There is a new motorhome service point for campers.
Fishing on site, two tennis courts with free tennis coaching for children during school holidays - please bring appropriate tennis trainers. Dog exercise field and woodland walk. Field for ball games and indoor games in barn including pool, table tennis, skittles and bar football. Also a TV room.
