Managed by the Club on behalf of South Lakeland District Council, this is an attractively laid out site, close to the shores of Lake Windermere and within easy walking distance of the town. Windermere has an excellent sailing centre from which to enjoy sailing, windsurfing and canoeing and you can hire equipment and take instruction. And then there are always the fells - dont forget your walking boots. If you want something slower and more romantic, take a steamboat, the perfect way to enjoy the changing panorama of lakeland and fell.
Note: the A592 from Penrith via Kirkstone Pass is not recommended.

From N on A591 (Ambleside) or A592 (Penrith) - at mini rndabt on N outskirts of Windermere follow sp Bowness Bay & Lake, Newby Bridge (A592); at mini rndabt in Bowness town centre foll sp for Bowness Bay; in 300yds (immed past pier) turn R into Glebe Rd. Site ent on R within ½m immed before car pk ent.
From M6 - leave at junc 36 onto A590 dual cway (sp South Lakes); in abt 3¼m cont onto A591 to Windermere; in Windermere do not turn 1st or 2nd L into town but cont to mini rndabt & turn L onto A592; then as above.
From S on A592 (Newby Bridge) - turn L immed before pier in Bowness into Glebe Rd; then as above.
