Set in Forestry Commission woodland, with forest walks straight from the site, this is a quiet, secluded site with pitching areas in little open glades, ideal for the wildlife observer. Within the forest, there is a memorial area dedicated to the Desert Rats, giving a flavour of life during the second world war. Swaffham is a Georgian market town with a fine Saturday market. The town is also known for being the birthplace of Howard Carter, discoverer of Tutankhamuns tomb and theres a good exhibition about him in the local history museum above the Town Hall. Both Kings Lynn and Norwich have attractive historic centres of note and are within easy driving distance, as is the Norfolk coast with its attractive villages.

From Kings Lynn on A10 - turn onto A134 in abt 4 miles; in 17miles at roundabout in Munford turn L into road sp Swaffham. Site ent on L within 2 miles by WW2 tank.
From Swaffham on A1065 - turn R abt 2 1/4miles past Hilborough into site ent rd.
Note : particular care needed turning R into site by WW2 tank.
From Thetford on A134 - turn R at rndabout in Mundford onto A1065 (sp Swaffham). Site ent on L within 2 miles by WW2 tank.
Note : Try to avoid Brandon on A1065 between 1600 & 1800 hrs due to traffic congestion.
