Black Knowl is located within the aincent New Forest and offers over 140 miles of track to explore on foot, bicycle or horseback. The site itself is set on a quiet open aspect plot within walking distance of Brockenhurst with all the common amenities of a small village.
The main attraction of this site is the vast area of the New Forest to expore. The forest was created in 1079 by William the Conqueror and was his original hunting ground. Visit The Lyndhurst Museum and Visitors Centre which explains the fascinating history of the Forest.
Other attractions include National Motor Museum at Beauleau or Bucklers Hardtime Maritime Museum. Familys will enjoy using many of the family freindly areas of the forest; very good for picnics, Longdown Dairy Farm and Paultons park.
Please do not arrive before 12:00. Please note there is no longer a late arrivals area and operates as a members only site.
Turn R off A337 (Lyndhurst – Brockenhust) in Brockenhurst (¼m past Balmer Lawn Hotel) opp Careys Manor Hotel into Grigg Lane (B3055, Sway, New Milton); in abt ¼m cont across staggered X-rds into Sway Rd; in 200yds (past filling stn on R) turn R into The Rise (sp Rhinefield, Burley); cont to T-junc & turn R into Rhinefield Rd; cont for 1m (passing Forest Park Hotel); within ½m turn R past Beachern Wood Car Pk; cont on tarmac rd (speed ramps); in ¾m turn sharp R. Site 200yds. Note: only approach Brockenhurst on A337. Do not use main street or short cuts due to width restrictions & other obstructions.
