Deer, squirrels, badgers and foxes can be seen around the park. The holiday home caravans on High Close Holiday Home Park are solely for the enjoyment of caravan owners, their families and friends. Our holiday home park is located in the stunning tranquility of the Northern Lake District, near to the majestic Skiddaw range (pictured above) and Bassenthwaite Lake. Being within short a short drive of the picturesque Lakeland towns of Keswick and Cockermouth means High Close provides a huge range of activities for the whole family. High Close Holiday Home Park is one of the Lake Districts best kept secrets. Tucked away in a shady valley in Park wood along side a sparkling stream. Our aim at High Close is to manage the park for the mutual benefit of the home user and environment.
Midway between Keswick and Cockermouth in the Lake District village of Bassenthwaite, High Close holiday park is ideally situated for touring the Lakes and West Cumbria coastline. Bassenthwaite has a popular pub serving meals, local Jennings ales and other refreshments and a small shop where you can pick up daily goods.
There are rambles and walks from the park itself (you can leave the car!) or drive a short distance to the beautiful towns, valleys and lakes of Borrowdale, Derwentwater, Crummock water, St.Johns in the Vale, Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and more. Nearby facilities to the holiday home park include horse riding and fishing, leisure facilities, golf clubs (Cockermouth or Keswick), sailing, windsurfing and mountain biking (some of the best mountain biking in Cumbria can be experienced straight from the park grounds). For the serious walker, pack your rucksack and head up Skiddaw for some amazing views of the Northern Lake District. Alternatively there are walks up Binsey, High & Low Pike or head towards Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket. The Helvellyn range, Blencathra and Scafell are within a short drive. Families are spoilt for choice with nearby activities including Trotters World of Animals, Mirehouse, Osprey viewpoint, Whinlatter Forest, Keswick Launch and much more all close by. 7 miles north of Keswick on A591, through Bassenthwaite village, right past Sun Inn.
