Yorkshire Dales - This National Park has outstanding scenery and with over 20 main dales there is much diversity from ancient fortresses to unspoilt villages to sparkling rivers. In terms of recreation there is climbing on the limestone scars and grindstone crags, potholing at Inglebrough, White Scar and Stump Cross, and Fishing on the Rivers Wharfe, Nidd, Swale, Ure and Ribble.
Bolton Castle - This is a spectacular mediaeval fortress open daily from March through to November. There is much history here as the castle has been involved in almost every major historical event from Richard II.
Forbidden Corner - The Forbidden Corner is a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises. This is a fabulous activity day for all of the family - a real adventure.
Wensleydale - Wensleydale is a lush sweeping valley. Visit Hawes, a busy market town and buy the famous cheese. Askrigg, at the heart of Herriott country, is also worth a visit, most famous for its association with the All Creatures Great and Small TV series. Finally there is Middleham where you can explore the castle, home to Richard III in the 15th Century.
