Enjoy life in the slow lane........ After spending some time at Tarland Camping and Caravanning lub that tag will start to make sense. From the momment you arrive and meet the friendly staff until the first time you find yourself enjoying the stunning views over the morven hills, pheraps with a nice chilled glass of wine, it is obvoius some serious relaxation is the main goal here. The park itself has no clubs or pubs, only friendly like minded people. There is a small shop on site that has daily essentials and local produce. A rec room provides a bolt hole if the weather lets us down and boasts a pool table and table tennis table as well as loads of information on the local area. Walking around the park you may well see some of the resident phesants or rabbits dashing about between the mature trees and heather, they have been known to follow people about looking for a feed! The park is about 15 min drive from Balater and under an hour from Aberdeen. Idealy located to visit the attractions that make this area so popular with those who like to get away from it all. When you have had your fill of exploring the local walks and cycle runs then you may wish to visit Glen Tanar and Muir of Dinnet - two superb local nature reserves or the fairytale Craigievar Castle, pinkish in colour and on Scotland's Castle Trail. Aboyne, six miles from Site, has shops and a swimming pool. The theatre is central to the Aboyne and Deeside Festival in July. The local Highland Games are held in August. Tarland village itself is a has local shops, a bowling green and a golf course. Or why not visit The Queen's summer residence at Balmoral. The estate grounds, gardens and the Castle Ballroom are open to visitors during the summer. During the winter the leicht ski resort is about 40 minutes drive away for those wanting a bit of adventure too! It is a good starting point for walks, with lovely open views towards Mount Keen, Lochnagar and Morven. In fact the morven hills have been the inspiration for the new development of luxury holiday lodges nearing completion on the park. "Morven Rise will offer the ideal get away from it all for those who want to make the most of their leisure time, the lodges will be situated on the premier plots on the park, with the best views, will come ready to use - fully furnished, will have a 45 week season and a 50 year lease. even the verranda is included." says Mark the sales manager. all you need to bring is yourself and a little inamination.. then relax!
